The Friends of the Parish of Saint George, Cullercoats has been established to
assist financially in the maintenance of our beautiful place of worship, S. George's.
This Grade 1 listed building, designed by the renowned architect, John Loughborough Pearson,
is not only a local landmark, but a celebrated place of worship, both nationally and internationally.
We need your help!

need attending to to effectively maintain the fabric of the building, all of which will require

Preserving St George's church
Being set above the beach and close to the sea makes the location beautiful and inspired in good weather. However, when
it turns to a rasping North Easterly in November, the effect of this location on the building can be more easily imagined.
Built from local sandstone, the church has been laid siege by the elements and regular stonework repairs are required
to keep these elements out of the building's interior.
Recent works on the North Transept can be seen below. These are part of the current �93,000 programme of work:

'cashback' payment from the retailer.
Even applying for a credit card or requesting a holiday brochure will raise money! Inkjet Cartridge Collection - we are collecting Inkjet cartridges and 'dead'
mobile phones; every original cartridge or mobile earns us money. They can be left at the vicarage,
or put in the collection box in the church hall. To date �63.50 has been raised through this.
